Dinosaur Projects
After taking part in Adventures in Bookmaking, Bearwood Primary School requested sessions combining design, technology and research to create interactive dinosaur books. Despite their young age, Year 3, the subject proved to have both the fun factor and a tremendous scope for learning. Introducing evolution, timelines of life and continental drift often involved adapting and producing bespoke resources, though the real challenges came in addressing fact, evidence based theories and imaginative hypothesis within a non-fiction setting. Demonstrating design and technology techniques seemed relatively straight forward by comparison. Once the dinosaur supermarket jokes died down it also provided the perfect context for connecting animals with their natural environment.
